Cheese and Monkeys

Everyone loves cheese and/or monkeys. There is no one who hates both cheese and monkeys. This is the eternal truth.

Let's do Lent

The Mister does this thing called "Catholicism" that I hear is all the rage these days. Anyhoo, I decided that I'm catholic too this year, so I gave up dessert for Lent, but I'm also about to give up the Interwebs (well, sort of; I'm cutting my time down to 1.5 hours a day [Ed: Don't ask how long she's usually on]). So this is, like, the post proclaiming my intention, and if you put something on, like, the Interwebs, then it's like a real promise or something.

We're having pizza for dinner and just got back from the library and the Beer Despot, where we bought Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat beer, which isn't half bad. However, I am always reminded by my father that Leinie's is "what the hobos drank when I was in college". Though, frankly, he and his friends were drinking Point beer, which is even crappier (Think low-rent PBR). [Ed. - Speaking of PBR, we discovered a bar in town that has 55-cent PBR five nights a week and karaoke - awesome!]

One more thing: I obsessively read blogs, which is bad enough, but I am inexplicably drawn to crazy fucktard libertarian right-wingers who not only think that women's suffrage should be repealed, but that free speech in general is a bad idea. Why do I torture myself? I also really like the craft/sewing blogs, but I always end up feeling like a loser, as I am reading about someone being productive instead of actually being productive myself. Sigh.

Oh well, off to the Lenten mines.

Meh

It's cold and it's been snowing and I don't think I've left the house for a few days. It's okay, though. I've been doing....lots of things? I did just finish "The Blind Asassin", which means I've read two books in as many weeks. That's good, considering I haven't finished an issue of the New Yorker in the past year, I swear. Fuck, why is reading so hard? Damned internet connections, that's why.

February - yaaaaaay.

Hey, it's not January anymore! It's freaking cold cold cold here, so cold that the schools haven't had classes for the past two days. I made a bunch of stuff (photos here because I'm lazy), and all of it went to other people. I made a little owl with a heart on its tummy tonight, and I'm going to make a bigger one tomorrow for a set. And again, send it off to other people. I am getting ready to make things for Selling. Though my sewing machine is in the shop, so I'll have to wait to do big things for a few days...
